If you aren’t one of the many, you’ve at least heard of them by now: the growing number of people demanding connectivity in their vehicles. The masses have spoken – and Amazon is ready to answer.
“Two and a half years ago, we had nothing,” Alexa Auto Vice President Ned Curic told CNBC following a tour of Amazon’s headquarters last week in Seattle. “We’re much further than I thought we would be. I’m quite pleased with the speed we were able to build and deploy.”

Amazon has been busy engineering a connected ecosystem to seam together everyday tools at home, and now they’re ready to take that on-the-go. And it sounds like the world is ready for it, too.
Many automakers have already taken steps to provide in-vehicle voice recognition systems, but they’ve all fallen far short of user expectations so far, which has been interpreted as frustrating broken promises, and negatively affected quality and ratings.
Then, earlier this year, Amazon released Echo Auto: an aftermarket in-vehicle device with Alexa. Anyone with the amazon app can use this device to pair with their smart devices at home. It doesn’t even require an additional subscription.

Ford Motor was the first automaker to allow Alexa into its vehicles through a mobile app-based implementation – and through the app, drivers can already control smart devices in their home like thermostats and lights, in addition to car features such as radio, phone, and navigation, without ever touching a cell phone. But Curic says, “[We] can do so much more. You can bring tons of vehicle value through that experience.” By actually embedding Alexa into a vehicle’s system, the voice assistant can communicate with home devices, offer Alexa services and assist in controlling vehicle settings.

So far, Amazon has officially announced partnerships with 10 automakers. But they’ve also made a big investment in Rivian, and all-electric-vehicle startup, which begs the question…
What fancy advancements in technology might they still be keeping under wraps?
Blunt People Who Hilariously Cut Straight To The Point
Here are 45 blunt people who bucked the trend by getting straight to the point. Why waffle on when you can cut through the nonsense, speak your mind, and tell it like it is?
Shine Bright Like A Diamond
Who remembers the beautiful Rainbow Fish? This one was a classic enjoyed by kids of all ages across the years—the story of a beautiful fish with shimmering scales, who shares his beauty with his friends so they can all shine together.

Sadly, real life isn’t like the storybooks. This blunt assessment of what comes next really paints a grim picture. Yikes — but such is life.
Caught Red Handed
No matter the product you’re using, it’s important to read the label and stay aware of any side effects. Follow the instructions and you can’t go wrong—well, usually. So long as the label is being honest with you, that is.

Unfortunately, this lady found out the hard way that this paint wasn’t as washable as the label implied. Instead of getting mad, she gets blunt: “See you in court.” We hope it washes off properly before she has to appear in public, at least.
What’s Up Doc?
Medical school takes years of hard work, determination, talent, skill, and smarts. It’s no wonder we respect doctors so highly. If TV is any indication, every parent in the world wants their children to grow up to become a doctor, or to marry one.

So perhaps we can forgive this doctor for being blunt. She worked hard on her medical degree and she’s not going to let someone’s quick Google search of their own symptoms challenge that.
Farewell My Friends
Saying goodbye can be so difficult — so why do it? Instead of arranging a farewell party, tearfully wishing everyone all the best, why not just disappear into the darkness, never to be seen again? It’s a lot less hassle, that way.

That’s exactly what Todd did, but not before leaving a blunt message behind him. That’s one way to hand in your notice that’s sure to be remembered for years to come.
Rock-a-bye Baby
Communication is key to any relationship, especially when it comes to raising children. It’s hard work, but if a couple can work together as a team and share the load it makes everything a lot easier. The trick is to be clear and open so there are no misunderstandings.

Still, misunderstandings are bound to happen. When this tyke got home, all tuckered out, Dad put her to bed — well, sort of. There’s such a thing as taking something too literally.
What’s Your Emergency?
No matter the movie, there’s always some complication that’s driving the plot. Whether you’re a delivery guy lost on a desert island, a poor young woman held down by evil step-sisters, or a pirate sailing the seven seas in search of a missing treasure, there’s always some challenge that seems impossible to overcome.

Then there are movies like Home Alone. This reviewer cuts straight to the point: just call the cops. It’s a blunt suggestion, but an easy solution.
Post No Notice
Hypocrisy is all around us. People say one thing and do another, or people pass judgment on us when we know they’re doing the exact same things behind closed doors — if not worse. It’s even more offensive when this hypocrisy is posted up on the walls for all to see.

No notices or flyers? Well, someone wasn’t having it. It just so happens, someone has posted a flyer to say “no flyers,” but there are some direct people out there who just won’t take this sort of thing lying down.
Happy Anniversary
Shoot for the moon — even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars. Good advice? Well, sometimes. If you need some encouragement to follow your dreams and pursue your passion, then yes, it can be great inspiration. Other times, though…

This guy got thoroughly called out for taking a shot when he really shouldn’t have. Still, we have to admire his optimism. Do we? Actually, no, we don’t. That might be blunt, but hey, it’s fair.
Don’t Forget To Write
Keeping in touch is the only way to maintain a relationship of any kind. Whether friends, lovers, or family, if you’re on a trip or going away for any amount of time, a simple text can make all the difference and let people know you’re thinking of them.

Back in the old days, when postcards were still a thing, Barbara decided to stay in touch with Jimmy. Maybe she didn’t mean to be so blunt — but then again, maybe she did. Jimmy knew Barbara was thinking of her, but perhaps he wasn’t quite sure what to make of it.
Show Me The Money
Money can really get in the way of friendships, and every other kind of relationship, too. Still, money makes the world go round, so there’s not much you can do about it. It’s not like you can live without it. So sometimes, you just have to try your best.

That’s what this guy did, and he wasn’t shy about it. Mom wasn’t shy about her blunt comeback, either. Maybe “thief” is a strong word—or maybe mom just calls it like she’s sees it!
Facing The Facts
Graduation is a time of joy, a time of celebration, a time of freedom—though not freedom from embarrassing parents, sadly. One of the great joys of being a parent is embarrassing your kids, so sometimes you just have to roll with it.

This graduate had a blunt reaction to his dad’s shenanigans, but that didn’t dampen dad’s spirit. He’s ready to show the world how proud he is of his son. Just don’t let it give you a big head.
Spring Princess
Sometimes it can seem like parents have trouble keeping up with what their kids are up to. The world is changing fast and keeps on changing, so it can be a lot to stay on top of. Some parents, though, don’t let anything stop them.

This dad came straight back at his daughter when she sent him a selfie with a flower crown filter. Maybe he doesn’t know how to use filters himself, but he still knows how to get things done — including a real-life flower crown comeback of his own.
Getting The Point Across
Communicating a message can be a tricky business. There are so many differences between people, so many points of view and perspectives that can clash in so many different ways. How can we ever hope to truly understand one another?

Well, there’s one way to do it: the blunt way. Keep it short, sweet, and simple—just like this flush button for the toilet. “Blue for 2.” Now that’s easy enough to understand, isn’t it?
Don’t Be Selfie-ish
Relationships are funny things. Everyone is their own individual and we all have our preferences, our likes and dislikes, whatever they may be. They might not always make sense to other people, but we always have to stay true to ourselves if we want to be happy.

When Britney found Simon’s selfie stick, she made up her mind — and she communicated it clear with this big, blunt sign. They’d talked about it, and now, they’re through.
Finding The Spark
It can be hard to know what we’re really looking for in life. That’s all the more true when it comes to finding a partner. What do we want: something serious or something casual? Do we want a commitment, or do we want to avoid the labels?

This Tinder champion knew exactly what he wanted, and he wasn’t afraid to get straight to the point and let his matches know. He wanted validation. He wanted to feel pretty. Isn’t that all we want, really, deep down?
A Frosty Reception
Winter can be a gloomy time, but spending that time together having fun as a community can be a great way to stay cheery through rain, hail, or snow. When the snow started falling, this community decided to come together to build a snowman…

…and another part of that same community came together, seeking to destroy it. They weren’t shy about their intentions—there were no two ways about it. That snowman would pay, and they made that clear.
Don’t Be Shy
It can be hard to tell people what we want. There’s a lot of vulnerability involved in sharing our needs, and we can sometimes wonder what will happen if we leave ourselves open like that.

On the other hand, there’s a lot to be said for just coming right out and saying it. Don’t beat around the bush, don’t mince your words, just say what you want and go for it. What have you got to lose?
Faint Praise
Kids are some of the most honest people on the planet. It can take years before they even learn what a lie really is, and even longer for them to get good at it—you can usually tell when a kid is telling a fib.

This kid was honest, though — a little too honest, maybe. Mrs. McMahon was probably thrilled to receive this kind, cute note…until she kept reading to see her student’s blunt assessment.
Cagey Behaviour
When you’ve got something shocking to say, it’s natural to want to fudge it a little. It’s rare that someone with a shocking secret will just approach it head-on—they tend to build up to it, bit by bit, creating some context and breaking it to you gently.

Well, most of the time that’s what happens. Casey doesn’t take that approach. Casey gets straight to it. Casey’s just got out of prison and he’s asking around for a place to crash. It’s a bold move, Casey — we’ll give you that.
Breakdown In Communication
Sometimes, stuff breaks down. That’s just the reality of life in this imperfect world of ours. How often have you heard someone say, “They don’t make ‘em how they used to” — maybe that’s true and maybe it’s not, but for as long as there have been machines, machines have been breaking down.

In fact, this one goes back to the stone ages—or close enough. Someone got sick of waiting for this Out of Order sign to be removed and left a sign of their own, with their own cheeky message.
Not Interested
A loan can be a helpful thing if you know what you’re doing and you have a plan to repay it — but not everyone who offers a loan has your best interests at heart. Sometimes, companies make similar offers: buy now, and pay nothing for 24 months!

Eric isn’t interested, and he has some pretty blunt words for the companies that make those offers. Where’s that extra money meant to come from? Some special offers aren’t all they’re cracked up to be.
A Ghost Of A Chance
We all have our own beliefs, and most of us have some sort of superstition. Whether it’s crossing our fingers, tapping on wood, or avoiding any black cat we see, beliefs in the spooky and the supernatural are shared by many people.

Not this kid, though. This is the mathematics of skepticism: 4 ghosts minus 1 ghost is zero ghosts, because there’s no such thing as ghosts. It seems so simple when you put it like that.
A Warm Welcome
Taking a trip without your family can be a stressful time, especially if you’ve got kids. For parents who are used to working together as a team, leaving your partner alone to watch the kids can leave you wondering how things are going to turn out.

These kids wanted mom to know how things had gone, as soon as she saw this sign in the window. It seems that, while mom was away, there were some necessities that had been neglected.
A Family Reunion
Nothing brings a family together quite like a new baby being born into the world. A child is a real-life living and breathing expression of love, and that’s a beautiful thing — but no matter how magical the miracle of birth, big brothers will always be big brothers.

This big brother was meeting his sister’s partner — we hope, for his sake, that it wasn’t the first time. Then again, a little bit of sibling rivalry never hurt anyone.
A Brighter Future
Life can seem uncertain, especially when you’re young. The world seems big and confusing, and it’s hard to see what’s going to come next. Having a positive attitude can really help. A positive outlook lets you face any challenge that life might throw your way.

Then again, so will sarcasm. That’s what Katia chose. Maybe the future seems unclear, but she’s going to face it with good humor and blunt words — and she’s sure to go far.
Button Up
Machines are complex things, and sometimes it takes an expert to really know how to make a machine work properly. If you’re that expert, though, it really pays to make yourself available when people need a hand.

When the expert wasn’t around, someone decided to make life difficult for them — and they wanted to let the expert know they’d done it, too. They pressed every button and left a note to make their feelings known.
Summer Hunger
Summer camp is a great time to get away and spend time with your friends, to make new friends, to enjoy the outdoors and engage in great activities — and don’t forget to write home to let your parents know how you’re doing.

When Josh’s mom got this note, she was probably looking forward to hearing all about her son’s adventures and the great time he was having. She probably wasn’t expecting to see such a short, singular sentence. It sounds like Josh was just hungry.
Barking Up The Wrong Tree
When you know what you want, you have to go for it. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise when you’re trying to follow your passion and make your dreams come true. Well, actually, in certain circumstances you probably should.

Like when you want to buy Mackenzie’s dog, but Mackenzie tells you that the dog is just not for sale. That’s a setback, sure. Perhaps next time you want to buy Mackenzie’s dog, try not to be so blunt about it.
The Times Are A-Changin’
Times change and nothing lasts forever. Night follows day, day follows night, rain follows sunshine and sunshine comes after the rain—but kids will always be kids. Honest, and unafraid to be as blunt as possible.

This kid has a favorite person: their dad. Well, for now, at least. Everything is subject to change and this kid wants Dad to know it. Dad better stay on top of his game if he wants to keep the top spot.
Gold Digger
Breakups are tough. There’s no denying it. When you think you’ve found love, only to discover it was all an illusion — that can make the best of us feel like a few blunt words are in order.

This broken vending machine was just another opportunity for someone to badmouth his ex, in a hilarious way. Money goes in and nothing comes out. For those who’ve had their hearts broken, that can seem all too familiar.
Shock To The System
Big news can come as a shock, no matter how carefully someone tells you. So sometimes, it just makes more sense to be upfront and get it over and done with. Don’t delay—get the truth out there and deal with whatever comes afterward.

When Matt came home, he was confronted with a simple but shocking message: Your sister is pregnant. That’s big news to break via an ambush.
A Laugh And A Half
Oscar Wilde said that the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about. We all want to be noticed, and we all crave attention, to one degree or another — and sometimes it doesn’t matter if the attention is good or bad.

Lydia wanted her dad to know the truth. Sure, she was laughing — but she wasn’t laughing with him. She was laughing at him. Well, at least she’s having a good time — though we wonder if Dad finds it funny.
Reading The Signs
Breaking bad news can be tough, so sometimes it helps to just rip it off like a band-aid. It might hurt now but it gives everyone more time to heal. That being said, there’s a way to do it without being too blunt.

There’s no doubt Jody got the message when she saw this blunt sign. It doesn’t get much clearer than that. See you later, Jody—or maybe see you never.
Kitchen Nightmare
They say you should never meet your heroes, and maybe that applies to Twitter as well as real life. They’re only human, and humans can have some pretty strong opinions—and you’re not always going to want to hear them.

When this guy tweeted at Gordon Ramsay, he wanted to convince him that pineapple on pizza isn’t all that bad — but it looks like Gordon just isn’t interested. He’s made his decision and he’s not afraid to be blunt about it.
Soldiering On
When you get knocked down, you’ve got two options: stay down, or get back up and keep on going. It’s not always easy, but it’s never complicated.

This kid had some homework: finding a solution to a problem. What do you do when you fall down and scratch your knee? Maybe go to the nurse, or ask a friend for help? Nope, this kid was blunt and laid it all out. Get up and deal with it — that’s a strong and resilient attitude. Although, for the sake of balance, let’s hope this kid learns about self-care as well.
Odd Jobs
There’s nothing wrong with having a bit of fun at work, as long as you stay professional. The trouble comes when the boss has a different idea of fun than you — and sadly, that seems to be what happened here.

From “I love my job” to “I lost my job” — a change of just two small letters, but they make all the difference. That’s a blunt way to share the news, but honest, and straight to the point. We hope she lands on her feet!
It Does The Job
Everyone, and everything, in this great wide world has a purpose. We’re all here for a reason, even though we might not have figured out what that is, yet. The same applies to everyday objects: oars are for rowing, sails are for catching the wind, and anchors are for… what are anchors for, again?

Unfortunately, whoever made this tattoo has struck something of a contradiction, which has been pointed out in as blunt a way as possible. Anchors are meant to sink. That’s what they’re for.
Ask And Ye Shan’t Receive
When something goes missing, the first step it to check the last place you had it — retrace your steps and it’ll soon turn up. If that doesn’t work, the only thing left to do is ask politely for some help. Usually, people will be good enough to offer a helping hand.

Usually, but not always. Something tells us that whoever has that purple pen, they’re not too interested in bringing it back.
What Are Friends For
Friends are there to keep you company in a world that can sometimes seem harsh and cruel. Then, there are the friends who can seem harsh and cruel, when really all they’re trying to do is keep you grounded.

Adrian tried to flex, but his friend just wouldn’t let him get away with it. Adrian’s blunt friend brought him crashing back down to earth, but maybe it’s for the best. Then again, with friends like these…
High Praises
Sometimes, parents just don’t get it. So many kids have had this experience, when you ask your mom or your dad for a special toy or game and they come home and bring you a cheap knockoff that’s nothing like what you asked for. It’s sad, but it happens.

Usually, it doesn’t happen with Jesus, though. This mom thought she was honoring the Lord by putting up a picture beside her cross — but she just ended up honoring the Jedi. Oops — it’s time to tell mom what’s what.
Ice “Coaled” Comeback
While grilling on the barbeque isn’t necessarily difficult, it still takes some practice when it comes to cooking your food to perfection. Leaving food unwatched as it cooks over open flames of coal has undoubtedly led to plenty of ruined dinners…and maybe some laughs.

Take this unlucky sucker, for instance, who may have “put it down on the grill” but certainly didn’t know what to do after that. Before the ‘BBQ King’ got too cocky about their tray of burnt meat, a Twitter commenter served them with this wittily blunt response.
Just Clean Your Hands
For most people, washing hands is just common sense. There are others, though, that need to be reminded regularly to wash their hands after using the bathroom. For the sake of everyone’s health, this restaurant decided to go with a particularly straight forward, no-nonsense reminder to get the point across that hygiene is indeed very important.

If it were up to us, we’d replace all the typical “Wash Your Hands” reminder signs with this simple yet witty, little number.
Sundae Pun-Day
Some would say that a healthy relationship is one that’s full of love and passion. Others, on the other hand, would agree that a staple of any good relationship includes bad puns and silly inside jokes. Still, there is such a thing as taking it too far.

It’s clear that this isn’t the first time Arely has pulled a fast one on her boyfriend. After all, the Twitter user admitted herself that she wouldn’t be surprised if Jose got fed up with her shenanigans one day. Let’s be real — Jose’s lack of response to Arely’s ‘sundae pun’ speaks for itself…
Kids Say the Darndest Things
There’s a reason why this saying exists — “kids say the darndest things.” It’s no secret that children can be pretty direct, and even brutally honest at times. Although this tweet may have taken us by surprise at first, we’d be lying if we said we didn’t also get a good laugh out of it.

After all, there’s nothing like getting caught off guard by your own child saying that they could easily change their mind after they’ve just finished telling you that you’re their favorite.
Thanks a Lot, Todd
No hard feelings, Todd, but you suck is basically the tone of this message. It’s clear that whichever Hideaway Piano Bar employee set this sign up couldn’t hold back their disappointment and distaste for Todd.

While we’re not entirely sure what a lightsaber night is and why it was canceled, we can be sure that it was all Todd’s fault. What we’re left wondering is what Todd even did to sabotage these plans and whether or not he apologized…
Ice, Ice Baby
As rude as it is, it’s not uncommon for people to steal their co-workers’ lunches from the office refrigerator. While some people decide to take their chances and not label their food before storing it in the fridge, others take a different approach by leaving an overprotective note like this once, for instance.

Sure — we can understand telling your coworkers to stay away from your food but leaving a note not to steal your ice is pretty weird, which is why the blunt note in return was the perfect response.
Mustard Cupcakes
There’s a reason why people say not to mess with Mama Bear or her kids for that matter. If you do, you’ll end up eating a mustard-icing cupcake like these ones. If we didn’t know any better, we’d say that mommy dearest — India Jacob — has had quite enough of her little baby getting picked on at school.

Perhaps she’s already had a discussion about this issue with her kid’s teacher but since nothing has changed, India Jacob decided to take different measures…
Apple vs. Spotify
Since music streaming services first appeared, there has been an ongoing debate as to whether Apple Music is better than Spotify or vice-versa. In any event, we think it’s safe to say that this is one savage way to break the truth. There’s no doubt that Apple Music is crying over this response.

In all honesty, though, it’s not Twitter user @miserawg’s fault that Apple’s music services simply aren’t cutting it for some people. While others might disagree with Ellie’s response, it doesn’t change the fact that he served Apple Music with an ice-cold burn.
That’s a Rectangle
Geometry may not be science but leave it to Bill Nye the Science Guy to teach you a thing or two about shapes. While Twitter user @_LitLadd was trying to make a point that he’s now surrounded by money rather than people, he may have gotten just a bit too cocky.

Sure — we all understand what GC Ladd was saying in reference to his old social circle versus his new social circle but that doesn’t mean Bill Nye was going to let him get away with this technical mistake…
Put the Benches Back
Well, we think it goes without saying that whichever gym employee typed this reminder up clearly doesn’t hold anything back. Just by reading the first sentence, it’s evident that the gym staff is incredibly frustrated by the lack of manners their members have.

While this note might be just a tad harsh, it undoubtedly gets the point across that people need to stop moving the benches in front of the mirrors unless they’re planning on returning it to its original place afterward.
Perfect Imperfections
People are imperfect creatures. No matter how hard we might try, we’re always making mistakes, missing the mark, and showing off our ignorance without even knowing it. When we remember we’re all in the same boat, it’s easy to forgive — but it’s also lots of fun to rub it in.

When this woman spotted her co-worker’s mistake, she couldn’t resist taking a blunt and playful jab. It’s an easy mistake to make, but still a funny one.
It Pays To Plan Ahead
No matter how hard you try, sometimes the unexpected can happen. Whether it’s the weather, or whether it’s some other unforeseen circumstance like a road closure or an accident, it pays to be prepared for whatever contingency.

That’s just what Grant did when he ordered too many fries. We’re not sure what emergency he was planning for, exactly. Maybe he was just really hungry? Well, that’s easily fixed with a name-and-shame style sale on frozen fries. Sorry, Grant.
Come To The Light
Churches have been around for thousands of years, all the way back to the times of the Roman Empire. In all that time, across long spans of history, churches have been doing their best to bring people in the doors.

Some churches, like this one, seem to have run out of ideas. They’re not giving up, though — their messages are just getting blunt, but straight to the point. Blah, blah, you know the drill by now, just come on in already.
A Dog’s Life
Standing up for the little guy, giving a voice to the voiceless, is the act of a hero. We see this sort of thing in the news every day, although sometimes not quite so much as we might like. How much more heroic is it, then, to stand up for the littlest guys, the good boys of the world—our precious dogs?

Someone went to the trouble of creating a Twitter account for Dog On Plane, just to have some blunt words about this pup’s right to fly. Who’s a good boy?
Rebel With A Cause
No matter how good you were as a kid, chances are you had your rebellious phase. We all go through it—we want to push back, to stand out, to assert our individuality. Sometimes we try to be shocking so our parents know we’re serious.

Well, this dad wasn’t having it. He knew the best response to your kid acting out is not to be shocked, but to mock. Those knives might be sharp, but dad’s reaction is as blunt as they come.
