Porsche’s SUVs are getting a makeover in 2024! See what’s new with the Macan and Cayenne, and decide for yourself if these changes are an improvement or a downgrade.

Macan

Get ready for an EV version of the Macan! The electric model is expected to carry a 100-kWh battery, likely providing more than 300 miles of range. People won’t have to wait long to charge the Macan, as it’ll be able to charge at 270 kW with DC fast charging. While this car is a great option for someone interested in purchasing an EV, it is anticipated to be quite expensive.

Cayenne

The new Cayenne is most noticeable by its re-designed headlight, tweaked suspension, and improved interior tech. This model offers fantastic plug-in hybrid options, superior off-road performance, and a lot of versatility.

That said, it’s pretty pricey and offers very limited cargo space. Overall, the Cayenne may not be the best option for everyone.

Introducing the Track-Only McMurtry Spéirling Pure

You Can Soon Get Your Hands on a Goodwood Record-Setting McMurtry Spéirling

McMurtry Spéirling made headlines by setting a new lap record at the Goodwood Hill Climb last year. Now, the British startup brand plans to build 100 customer-spec versions of the electric supercar. With its exceptional performance, lightweight design, and dedication to cornering prowess, the new McMurtry Spéirling Pure represents an exciting addition to the track-focused electric supercar market. Here’s everything you need to know about the new car.

Impressive Features

The track-only vehicle features two electric motors, producing a combined 999 horsepower and weighing under 2,205 pounds. Despite its compact size, the car offers adjustable pedals and steering wheel to accommodate drivers up to six foot seven inches and 330 pounds. With a claimed top speed of 190 mph, the focus of the McMurtry Spéirling Pure lies in its exceptional cornering abilities. Equipped with slick racing tires and two electric turbines at the rear, the car generates significant downforce. While McMurtry hasn’t disclosed the exact figures for the Pure, the original prototype produced around 4,400 pounds of downforce at rest. The downforce-on-demand fan system enables the car to achieve lateral acceleration at accessible speeds, ensuring remarkable grip through corners.

Enhanced Performance and Endurance

McMurtry Spéirling aims to surpass the performance of the record-holding car at Goodwood with the Spéirling Pure. The vehicle is designed to complete multiple laps on full-sized racetracks before requiring a recharge. Its 60.0-kWh battery is integrated into the carbon-fiber monocoque and can be replenished in just 20 minutes, although specific details about the charging setup have not been provided.

Availability and Participation in GT1 Sports Club

After unveiling the first Spéirling Pure prototype at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, McMurtry Spéirling plans to commence production of pre-production prototypes in 2024, with customer deliveries scheduled for 2025. Pricing for the limited edition of 100 units starts at over $1 million. Owners of the McMurtry Spéirling Pure will also have the opportunity to participate in the GT1 Sports Club.
