The Mercedes-EQ sub-brand has recently launched its first model, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS, with the brand’s signature all-electric feature. Meeting the decades-long luxury standard set by the gas-powered S-Class sedan, this debut long-range EV model features exotic technology blended with unparalleled riding comfort, at a matching price level.
Top Technological Features
This new model is going to be the first-ever long-range electric Mercedes-Benz on the current market. According to the promise made by Mercedes, the EQS is capable of fast DC charging and can be charged from 10% to 80% capacity in just 31 minutes. The model is going to be in the market with two trim levels. The standard one is EQS 450+ features a 329 hp single electric motor and 419 lb-ft of torque. The range estimation of this model is up to 484 miles on a full charge. The quicker version is the EQS 580 4Matic, which comes with an increased robust output of 516 hp and 631 lb-ft. The expected range return is between 410 and 420 miles. The main power source for both models is a 107.8 kWh battery pack.
The Interiors
The interior of EQS is dominated by Mercedes-Benz’s debut ‘Hyperscreen Display’ feature, which is a massive door-to-door single glass dash panel. This gorgeous futuristic display comes with a central infotainment touchscreen, instrument panel, and an optional third touchscreen for the front passenger. With an abundance of space up front, the model also boasts large windows and a massive panoramic sunroof.
The Comfort Level
With and spacious rear-seat headroom, the standard sedan class king-size seats of the car comes with decadently plush cushioning. Adding more adjustments, an executive seat option features heating, cooling, and built-in massage functions, taking the cosseting comfort level up to a notch. It also comes with the promise of buttery smooth ride quality. Barring the outside road and wind noise to enter, the soundproof cabin of EQS features a drag coefficient of 0.2, which is the lowest ever figure for any production vehicle.
Karter Nikita Bedrin Will Debut in Car Racing at F4 UAE
Nikita Bedrin is a Russian karter who was one of the star rookies of senior karting in 2020. Now, he is about to go to single-seater racing in the Formula 4 UAF with a racing team. The star karter was among the leading contenders in junior karting during 2019 and managed to finish second in the WSK Final Cup, as well as third in the WSK Euro Series. In 2020, he moved to OK karts and won the Champions of the Future and WSK Super Master Series.
Nikita Bedrin Signed With Xcel for the 2021 Season
Nikita Bedrin had great performances in the CIK-FIA World and European championships, and that led to him signing with Xcel for the 2021 F4 UAE season. During his karting career, Bedrin was also one of SMP Racing’s junior drivers. Regarding his abilities, the team principal for Xcel Kevin Day said that Bedrin was, without a doubt, one of the hot young talents coming out of karting. Day also pointed out that Bedrin had won multiple races at the highest level in karting, which indicated that he has what it takes to repeat that success in Formula 4.
Xcel Will Help Nikita Bedrin Transition Into Car Racing
Experts say the team at Xcel will make sure its new star drivers are all set and ready for the new season. The five-round event will begin at the Dubai Autodrome in the middle of January 2021. Three of the races will take place at the Dubai Autodrome while the other two will be at the Yas Marina Circuit. Eight teams in total will compete for the grand prize.
Nikita Bedrin will join Matias Zazageta, Dilano Van’t Hoff, and Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak in Xcel’s new line-up. While 3Y Technology has signed Saud Al Saud as a new name for their team, Mucke Motorsport and the alliance between Motorscape and Dragon Racing have not yet announced any of their signed drivers.
