Sometimes, it can feel as though there’s no end to the number of ideas car companies have created over the years. Now, it looks as though two significant companies are joining forces as Ford and Rivian are teaming up on an electric vehicle project.

Making Their Mark

Rivian was the talk of 2018’s LA Motor Show as the company announced they had almost finished work on two brand new cars. The company has been using a skateboard platform as the basis for this five-seat pick-up truck and their seven-seat SUV – both entirely electric vehicles. That’s not all. Now, it appears that Rivian is teaming up with Ford to make a brand new electric vehicle.

All The Additions

The skateboard platform comes with a host of additions, such as a thermal system, braking, suspension, drive units, and the battery that all provide a low center of gravity and plenty of room inside the vehicle. Their two planned cars are also thought to reach 60 mph in just 3 seconds while their charge gives drivers a range of up to 400 miles. Sadly, production of the cars won’t be starting until 2020.

Joining Forces

Ford has dominated the car scene for many years, but now they are branching out even further as they have invested a whopping $500 million into Rivian. It’s believed that Ford will be using the skateboard platform as the basis for two brand new cars. Many companies are now opting to switch to electric, and it seems as though Ford want to invest in a tried and tested basis for theirs.

In The Works

Not only has Ford invested into the company, but it looks as though the two creators will be working together on to of Ford’s new models. There are currently talks of a battery-powered edition of the F-150 pick-up truck as well as a new car that has been heavily inspired by Ford’s classic Mustang. It looks as though this could be the start of something amazing for the two companies.

Working in a convenience store can be pretty creepy, especially if you work the night shift. Check out these creepy stories from people that work in convenience stores, grocery stores, bodegas and gas stations.

This story features another customer that’s probably not doing so well. Or, maybe this person is just eccentric. Either way, it’s pretty creepy to watch someone do something inexplicable.

That’s what happened to this part-time convenience store clerk when a customer arrived and started scraping ice out of the ice cream freezer and collecting it in a Tupperware.

To be honest, a lot of the erratic behavior that goes on at convenience stores, bodegas and gas stations is down to people who are unwell. We know, this is heavy, but it’s a necessary disclaimer before we get into some wild stories. As you might guess from this post, the person in this story wasn’t exactly in a stable state of mind.

There were tai chi moves, kick flips, fuel drinking and shoplifted candy bars. Obviously, this is a dark situation, but also a creepy one.

In our first creepy story from a convenience store worker, we have someone closing down and cleaning the fry deli section. Usually, this section sells burritos, corndogs and other fried goods, but on this evening, they were all out of burritos.

Unfortunately, a late customer came in looking for a burrito and then threatened to attack the store worker if they didn’t make them one. Thankfully, after a trip to the freezer to check out the stock, this creepy customer decided they would leave.

OK so this convenience store story is from the perspective of a cop, but we had to include it because it’s so ridiculous. This cop was called to a 7-11 store and turned up to find a group of people assembled around the store.

Apparently, a customer in the store had tried to microwave a dead skunk in the store’s microwave, and then walked out leaving the appalling stench for everyone else. If that’s not creepy, we don’t know what is.

People that work in convenience stores know that there are lots of wacky customers. There’s the old lady who dumps all her change on the counter and waits until you count it. There’s the kid who wants precisely three candies. And, there’s the guy that always puts $6.66 of gas in his car.

We would love to make up a back story for this guy, and his creepy practice of buying multiple yogurts at once with a $50 bill.

Speaking of 666 – the number associated with the devil – this story also features a creepy man with a mysterious backstory. While our yoghurt buying creep liked to buy $6.66 worth of gas, this creepy man wants to stay far away from dark forces.

This elderly man wandered into a gas station at night wearing khakis and a button down shirt. After he made his purchase, he grabbed the worker’s wrist, made eye contact and threatened her with hell. What?!

We’re almost at the end of our list of creepy convenience store stories, and this post features a lady who aimlessly wanders around the store. Again, this lady sounds like she’s not in a stable frame of mind, and we agree it would be rather creepy to watch her unpredictable movements in an enclosed space.

Creepier still is that this lady eventually walks up to the convenience store clerk, while maintaining eye contact and asks if they’ve made their will.

People working in local stores are used to customers propositioning them. Some people will wink and smile at them, others will slip them their phone number, and yet more will ask them out for a drink, a spot of food, or a lunch time walk. For these workers, avoiding such propositions is a full time job.

This Redditor was once asked out by a man in his eighties who had printed out his online dating profile. It’s almost adorable… Almost.

It’s a sad fact of life that many men think that it’s appropriate to give their phone numbers to women while they are working. PSA to all men – it’s never appropriate to proposition someone while they’re being paid to be polite and friendly. In that situation, they feel cornered into being nice to you, and you always interpret that as genuine kindness. It isn’t.

This poor store worker got stalked via their job’s business Facebook page. That’s 100% creepy.

OK so in this list of creepy convenience store stories we have posts that are spooky creepy, and we have posts that are disgusting creepy. As many women know, disgusting creepy is the feeling one has when somebody looks at you or talks to you in an unpleasant manner. In fact, let’s turn to this Reddit post as the perfect example.

When an older man (or any man, or any person) asks another person to bend over and pick something up, that’s disgusting creepy.

This next post is both disgusting creepy, and sort of spooky creepy, because who would believe their eyes if they saw a wet half naked man striding into the convenience store? Is it a ghost? No, just a weirdo.

This customer must have felt very comfortable at his local store because he walked in wearing just a pair of flip flops and a towel around his middle. Worse still, he was dripping everywhere. Next time, buy the soap first!

Well, we’re back to that kind of creepy that has nothing to do with scary noises and poltergeists. Nope, this creepy convenience store story involves a group of “dudes” in a limousine, an offer of cash, and a dodgy proposal.

You guessed it – the dudes rolled up, and offered a female shop worker $100 to “clean their house” if she came right there and then. This is clearly a major case of stranger danger, surrounded by hundreds of red flags.

Some creeps take particular joy in making their prey feel uncomfortable. It’s not enough for them to be super unpleasant – they also like to witness someone else going through negative and awkward emotions.

In this creepy convenience store story, a man called a female worker a “good girl” because she was doing her job. For the record, most people old enough to work are adults (not “girls”), and it’s not cool to flirt with people while they’re working.

It’s particularly unacceptable to ask people out at work because they’re being forced to be polite and reasonable. When you’re wearing a uniform and standing in a workplace, you know that you can’t be rude, and you’re forced to interact with whoever approaches you.

This situation be even worse for some people, especially those that have been raised to be accommodating. Thankfully, the person in this story had the wherewithal to lie to their creepy customer, and sent them to the wrong door.

Part of us is interested in the rationale and mindset of people that slip their numbers to people who are working. We imagine that many of these misinformed people have dreamt up a fantasy situation in their head, and have interpreted every minor “Good morning,” or “Here’s your change,” from the convenience store clerk as “I love you, please ask me out.”

We’d encourage these people to rethink their dating strategy, especially if it involves hiding in a grocery aisle.

This convenience store story is about a vendor that’s actually kind of a creep. Shocking, right? This vendor decided to big himself up to a convenience store worker by bragging about his time at the Renaissance fair. Make it make sense!

This vendor tried to get himself a date by chatting about how many turkey legs he could eat. All he needed to do was know the name of the person he was talking to, and she was wearing a name tag. And still, he failed.

This story contains another person who probably wasn’t in a great state of mind during this creepy convenience store episode. This person went into the store, saw actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt on the front page of a magazine, and promptly started screaming at the store employees.

Security eventually escorted this lady out, and hopefully she received the care she needed. On the other hand, maybe she’s just a really big fan of Jennifer Aniston and hasn’t gotten over that situation yet.

This creepy story features the sort of creep that would break into a rap in the middle of a convenience store. You know the type. As this Redditor explains, the store they work in has a monitor that shows customer as they enter the store.

As we know, it’s normal to have a look at your image on such cameras, but not that normal to burst into song. Worse still, this guy choose to show off his rapping skills ten minutes before closing time.

Again we have a customer that’s clearly going through some medical issues. Regardless, engaging with a person with unpredictable behavior can be very scary, especially if it happens at night.

The lady in this convenience store story was having a good time dancing in the store until someone bumped into her. From there, she started to scream, and then flicked back into polite mode while exiting the store. Of course, once outside again, she reverted to screaming.

One of the creepiest things a customer can do to any employee is to stare at them. This is obviously made much worse if you stare and also commit some sort of anti-social or creepy act. In this story, a customer entered the store, stared at the employee, and then proceeded to pour a large bottle of soda down his pants.

We’re not sure if this would be less creepy if the man hadn’t made eye contact. Something about the stare makes this story even worse.

This convenience store story is only creepy up until a certain point, and then it becomes rather heartwarming. The creepy part is that a family, and a child in particular, were blocked inside their store because a large man fell asleep in the doorway on a broken couch. Certainly not an ideal situation.

Thankfully, this family took a compassionate approach to their doorway guest. They woke him with a cup of tea and a sandwich, and sent him on his way with clothing, shoes, and some groceries.

This creepy Reddit story reveals an alarming detail (excuse the pun) about the alarm systems inside certain convenience stores. As this poster tells it, their friend was working in a store while it was robbed, and found themselves locked in the store with the robber for 25 minutes.

Indeed, some alarm systems are designed to trap the thief inside, but that doesn’t sound like a great time for the store employees. This is even worse if the burglar is armed, and puts workers in even more danger!

We know this list is technically about customers who are creeps, but the customer in this story actually saved an employee from their creepy co-worker. Basically, a customer came into a store at night and observed the two people working there – a man and a woman.

The customer asks the female employee if she’s working with this man alone, and warns her to stay safe. As it turns out, the male employee had already tried to attack a different female employee.

Working the night shift at a convenience store or gas station means you get to see people who are awake during the night. This could be other shift workers, long haul truck drivers, taxi drivers, and possibly an occasional violent criminal. After all, it’s easy to get away with it at night, right?

This store worker witnessed a man covered in bleeding scratches who walked into the store and then stared at them via the refrigerator reflection. Chilling – and we don’t just mean the fridge.

The customer described here is clearly disturbed, and thinks that their local convenience store worker has the answers to their troubled existence. This person is described as genuinely seeking advice, and constantly worrying about the “people in black.”

Whilst the person in question here isn’t creepy, dealing with their behavior must be. It can be very unsettling to engage with someone who’s living in a different reality, especially at your place of work. We’re glad that this person went along with the situation and offered advice.

When you serve hundreds of people every week, you’re bound to overhear some pretty nasty comments. This one is top tier creepy, as it threatens to leave another human being by the side of a road. Worse still, the customer who said this appalling statement claims to have also left his first wife at the side of a road.

Hopefully these ladies are able to make their way back from this road and stay far away from their creepy former husband.

This creepy story takes place outside of a convenience store, when a worker was sent to another location late at night to pick up the store’s cash. While driving in the early hours of the morning, this employee’s car was attacked by three men with glass bottles.

This is a scene straight out of a horror movie, and we truly don’t know what we would have done in the same situation. Thankfully, this person managed to escape, despite the smashed glass that was littered everywhere.

You’ll find this gas station story either creepy or cute depending on how you feel about dogs. In this store, the owner’s Alsatian is trained to bark three times when a customer approaches the register. When he does, the owner emerges and deals with the customer.

Now, we find this trick pretty nifty, but it might come off as spooky to people who are unsettled by large dogs. In our opinion though, this is just a very good boy.

We do apologize to any women reading this list that would rather not be reminded of all the creepy ways that men can be inappropriate. But hey, this is a list of creepy stories, so what do you expect?

Sadly, being pregnant doesn’t protect you from creeps, as this late night store worker found out. A customer blocked her in a corner, and then made a horrible comment. Disappointingly, the store manager didn’t think there was anything to worry about.

We’ve already met a man who does tai chi in the parking lot and a woman who dances in the store, but get ready to meet Spoody. Spoody is a Vietnam veteran who was allowed to keep his money in the convenience store safe.

One day, Spoody arrives with a filthy Spitz dog and tries to wash it with a mop bucket. The dog proceeds to bite Spoody, who then runs off into the distance. After animal control arrives, the dog bites one of the handlers and escapes.

It’s bad enough to deal with creepy customers, but worse still when they claim to know you. It’s incredibly unnerving to be told that you know somebody when you really don’t think that you do. It makes you paranoid, and you can begin to second guess yourself.

This customer took things a step further and told everyone in a store that they were a certain employee’s aunt. Clearly something serious was going on here, and this lady needed some medical attention.

It’s difficult to write about the strange people that frequent convenience stores at night because they’re often lonely, unwell, or in need. That’s definitely the case here with a man found sleeping in a dumpster.

We admit that it would be super creepy to empty bags of garbage into the dumpster and then see movement inside. We never want to throw away a bag of moldy food and see a hand pop up from the depths.

Convenience stores with restrooms bring their own set of problems. Many unsavory characters use the restroom for a variety of reasons, and they can be disgusting to clean up at times. In this story, two different customers tried to lock themselves inside the store bathroom and declared that they lived there now.

This is another sad story where these people probably had nowhere else to stay. However, we wouldn’t want to deal with this issue late at night.

Sometimes, a day can be going perfectly normally, and then suddenly you feel creeped out by something. As we’ve said, this doesn’t have to be some sort of ghost or ghoul, and is often just other people doing or saying something weird.

That’s what went on here, when a convenience store clerk got creeped out when a customer handed her a house key instead of an ID. We’ll guess that this customer wasn’t exactly thinking straight, and we hope he kept hold of his key!

It’s very creepy to be at work and then to find yourself in a strange and unfamiliar situation. This can happen during periods of extreme weather, such as the tornado described in this Reddit post.

In this case, an employee was working the night shift at a convenience store during a tornado, and witnessed the funnel shaped clouds from the store. Soon, they found themselves holed up with three random customers in the windowless store kitchen. Weird.

People suffering from various illnesses can become paranoid and eventually convinced that people are conspiring against them. Naturally, it’s best for these people to be able to access adequate health care, but sadly, many live their lives untreated.

The man in this story sounds like he’s extremely paranoid. He refers to the clerk’s tattoo as a “technological demon vacuum,” and accuses his ex-partner of stealing his intelligence. This is surely a creepy situation, but not necessarily a creepy person.

This amusing convenience store story tells the creepy tale of a Benjamin Button-esque customer who appears to age in reverse. All employees at this store were confident that this customer was over the legal age, so much so that they had never asked him for identification.

When a new cashier started at the store they carded the man, and discovered that he was only 20 years old. Understandably, everyone was immediately creeped out and started to scrutinize the reverse-aging man.

This creepy convenience store tidbit comes from another haunted convenience store. The workers of this store were dismayed to show up and find a half starved dead cat in the middle of their workplace. Understandably, they found the whole scene pretty creepy.

A dead animal in the workplace is bad enough, but what about a dead animal that doesn’t set off the motion sensors? We know cats can be light on their feet, but is there something else afoot here?

For a list of creepy stories about convenience stores, we’ve encountered barely any blood so far. Well, don’t worry, because this Reddit post has enough blood to go around. In this story, a customer enters a store while bleeding everywhere. While the store manager tends to the customer, the worker calls 911.

While waiting for an ambulance, another customer comes in, this time brandishing a knife. Yet another customer slips on the first man’s blood, making the knife-wielding customer flee the scene. Phew!

There’s no question that the customer at the center of this story is a creep – just look at the description of him as “a Green Day reject” – that speaks volumes. This customer, complete with face tattoos and green spiky hair paid for his gas using a $100 bill.

As you might expect, the bill was counterfeit, but it was also the best fake note the police officer who attended had ever seen. Ridiculously, this employee was suspended for accepting the note.

This is an amazing convenience store story, and anyone who disagrees is just plain wrong. The story begins with a small town, a homeless man, and a five gallon bucket of pickled pigs feet. Through some strange series of events, the man came to use his pickled pigs feet to pay for transactions at the local store.

Much to the other customers’ dismay, this man continued to carry his open topped, stinking bucket everywhere. Happily, the pigs feet went to local stray cats.

For people that believe in the supernatural, haunted buildings can be really unpleasant places to be. The people working at the grocery store described in this Reddit post had to encounter a creepy workplace with heavy swinging doors that frequently opened by themselves.

In this haunted store, cans would jump off the shelves before crashing on the floor, and workers would hear the faint knock, knock, knock of former inhabitants banging on the walls. Even the managers agreed this place was haunted.

One sure fire way to know if a customer is creepy is if they advertise their creepiness via tattoos. In our experience, creeps are likely to have weird tribal tattoos, blurry cartoon characters on their biceps, or elaborate religious scenes across their backs. Alternatively, they could just tattoo a racist symbol on their chest and advertise their villainy to the world.

The creepy customer in this Reddit post has a terrible tattoo and a nipple ring. They must work as human repelling devices.

We really do have to hand it to all the female convenience store employees that spend their working hours fending off creepy customers. As well as having to stock shelves, serve customers and do cleaning tasks, these workers also have to stay away from people with overbearing and threatening auras.

This worker was only 18 when she noticed she was being stalked by one of her customers. This much older man made creepy comments, putting this worker in a very uncomfortable position.

This story is actually quite profound, and really does speak to some underlying issues across society. In this post, a man walks into a convenience store and keeps staring at the clerk until the other customers leave. He then pulls out a knife, admits to almost harming the employee, and then asks the clerk to take the knife from them.

Scarily, this customer then asks for the knife back, and the clerk felt he should oblige. Thankfully, nothing bad happened in the end.
