Everyone loves the thought of driving sports cars, but as a more environmentally-conscious civilization there is one big drawback – the impact it has on the world we live in. Luckily, Porsche are all too aware of their impact… Quite literally. Their new Porsche Impact carbon-offset program could let you have your sports car cake and eat it too.

Porsche Impact
The German car manufacturer have announced their new Porsche Impact carbon-offset program which will be available in the US quicker than you can say “eco-friendly.” While it may only be available to a small range of their cars for now, it’s believed that they will continue rolling this out in larger numbers as it proves to be more and more successful. All cars from the Porsche Experience Center in LA and Atlanta will be the first to be part of the carbon-offset program, along with their Porsche Passport and Porsche Drive vehicles.
How It Works
The concept for Porsche Impact is quite simple. The car makers will work out how much carbon dioxide has been emitted through the cars’ mileage. They will then turn that into a payment that will go to climate change agencies, in order to offset the carbon dioxide their cars have blasted into the atmosphere. Pretty clever, huh? Customers will be able to sign their cars up online for Porsche Impact, and then they’ll be able to cover the cost of the carbon-offsetting based on how many miles they drive.

How Much It Costs
According to Porsche, if you drove one of their 2019 Cayenne S models around 10,000 miles a year, then the payment would be around $67 to $152 to the environmental program of choice. It’s only a small yearly costs that can make a big difference to our planet, and make you feel far less guilty for driving a sports car.
The scheme is already in place in Germany, Poland, and the UK, and it won’t be long before the rest of the US can sign up for it too!
40+ Stories of Polite Robberies That Make Crime Seem Weirdly Wholesome

Being robbed is not a pleasant experience! Many emotions go through your mind, but what would happen if the person that was robbing you had good manners and was even considerate? That could make the experience even more uncomfortable, right? You may think that it doesn’t even matter but according to these crazy stories below, it makes the crime seem weirdly wholesome. See what we mean below!
You Know What, Here!
Places that are high in traffic, like train and bus stations as well as airports, are prime places for robberies and pickpockets. So you have to be on high alert at all times, but even with that, sometimes you just get unlucky.

Being held up would make us cry too. But we don’t think we would be quick enough to come up with a lie that ends with the robber giving us money for our trip. Good on the victim for being crafty and good on the robber for being decent!
Considerate and Caring
For those that have skin that is overly sensitive or prone to acne, it takes years and a lot of money to find the right products that work for you. So, once you do, you will go to the ends of the earth to make sure your skincare collection stays with you.

So, when this girl’s package was stolen and she knew who the culprits were, she wasn’t afraid to let them know how badly she needed her products. Turns out that they respected her request because her package was returned a few days later.
Best Mugging Ever
In some countries, getting into a taxi can be a pretty adventurous experience. Not only because they may drive crazy, or drive you crazy but also because you could be subjected to being robbed. And before you feel too bad for this next victim’s story, you should read on.

Not only did the taxi driver/mugger give him insight in order to make sure this doesn’t happen again but he also gave him his essential cards back. Now this tourist has a newsworthy story to tell his friends and family when he gets home.
Reassuring the Robber
The first time you do something out of your comfort zone, it can be quite a daunting experience. You often doubt yourself and apologize profusely for no reason. So, why would that feeling be any different for the first time you rob somebody?

This woman got a rookie and ended up consoling him while he robbed her. While this sounds beyond bizarre, we can sort of picture the scene in our head and it’s making us crack up laughing. Sorry, not sorry!
Keep Strumming
When you are a musician, your instrument is like a part of your body. This means when you are looking at the opportunity cost of losing it or a wallet full of money, many musicians would opt to lose the cash like this dude right here.

Now, it’s one thing to ask and plead with a group of robbers but it’s a whole other story when they actually listen. The fact that they give him back his beloved guitar really does give us the warm fuzzy feelies.
Get Home Safe!
Generally, when it comes to getting home safe the only people that really care about you are your friends and family. Sometimes, a kind stranger does but that rarely happens. So, when we heard about how this mugger cared about his victim’s ride home, we were left flabbergasted.

Stories like this just don’t happen so on the special occasion that it does, you bet your bottom dollar that we’re going to talk about it.
This Belongs to You
When you get pickpocketed or robbed, how many of you think about going back and asking the ruffians for your goods back? Not many people would, but if you have the courage (or maybe are a tad reckless), apparently it can be quite effective in some cases.

This woman just wanted her purse back, and when she asked nicely, she got a nice response. Her purse was returned with all the necessary cards in place. We guess the cash was a small price to pay.
Leaving a Review
How would you feel if someone stole your bike only to return it the next day with the funniest note ever attached to it? We’d feel inclined to forgive them because the number of laughs they provided us with would outweigh the frustration of being robbed for the night.

We would probably also go out and invest in a good bike chain so that no one else takes our baby out for a joy ride. After all, the culprit did say they would do it again…
Can I See My ID?
When you are attacked from the back, and there is a weapon involved, this type of robbery can be very frightening. This is even more so when it is at your own door because the attacker could go inside with you.

But before you worry that this story is getting too sinister, it actually doesn’t have a bad ending. The guy even got his ID back. Turns out some robbers in New York are considerate after all.
A Few Coins
Waking up in the middle of the night to find someone rummaging through your drawers is something that is a little unnerving for sure. Most robbers don’t try to steal your stuff with you in the room, but occasionally it does happen.

What would you do? We think we would scream and try to run for the phone. No way we would be so cool to just ask the robber to leave us some change for our morning commute! This made us giggle a little, we’re not going to lie.
Follow the Protocols
With the events of the world that took last year, many establishments have specific protocols in place to try and stop the spread of the virus. This includes social distancing and wearing masks. This could hamper the robber’s ability to rob as now people are more alert than ever.

This robber though seems like a cut above the rest. He respectively followed all the guidelines and waited his turn before politely asking the teller to give him the money. As ironic as it sounds, you best believe it’s true!
Getting Home
When you are traveling in a foreign country, you always have some concerns floating around your mind. One of those is what happens if you get mugged. How are you going to get home or even get to the next stop?

This Canadian traveler, though, was robbed by a pretty understanding mugger who ended up letting him keep his ID and some cash to get home. Can we say that he got lucky in an unlucky scenario?
A Cup of Joe on Us
Your car is an extension of your home, and so many people feel like it is an invasion of their privacy when their car is stolen. Not only that, but cars are expensive and even with insurance, this can be a pretty devastating experience to go through.

This person, though, seemed to have a ‘nice’ robber that just needed to borrow the car for a little road trip. How nice is it that not only was the tank filled, but they gave him a tip by leaving a free coffee coupon? Now, that’s a robbery done right!
Not Worth It!
Paris is notorious for pickpocketers in both the tourist areas and on transportation. Most of the time, if they take your stuff, you will never feel it. Luckily for this guy, he did. So when he turned around and spoke to the guy in French, it probably took the robber a little aback.

The fact that there was no cash in the wallet also played a part in this thief’s polite response. We’re just glad this story ended well for the tourist, otherwise, this could have been a real vacation-ruiner!
Calm and Collected
When someone looks to rob you, all they really want is the cash and maybe the credit cards. They tend to discard the identification cards. So it kind of makes sense that when you ask for these things back that they would be willing to leave it for you.

This guy was pretty lucky in this aspect as he was carrying his social security card, which could have given this thief a lot of access to way more than just the cash in his wallet. Sometimes people can experience luck in mysterious ways…
Where Did You Get It?
Most thieves want to get in and out quickly, so they don’t get caught by the police. But when you rob someone with mutual interests, maybe you can take a couple of extra minutes for a quick discussion.

This guy was robbing the place with a knife, and the person he was robbing was into knives. So it makes sense that they would talk about the knife being used, right?
Pleasantries!
When you see most surveillance tapes, the robber grabs the money they want, and then they rush out of the building so that they don’t get caught. There is minimal conversation other than them asking the cashier to open the register and put the money in the bag.

But this robber thought it was important to be pleasant and wish the guy he was robbing a good night. Unfortunately, that pleasantry ended up putting the cashier in a sticky situation…
Rough Day
Breaking up with someone is hard to do! There are often tears and harsh words involved, but how much worse would it be if halfway through someone decided to rob you? That would be the icing on a pretty crappy day, don’t you think?

While the robber knew very well that the couple was in the middle of a harsh discussion, their predicament didn’t stop him from taking their stuff. However, we guess you could say it was nice he acknowledged that they were having a bad day.
Down on My Luck
Often people resort to theft when they are down on their luck and want to make ends meet. They are desperate and feel there is no way out. This doesn’t make it right, but at least they are aware that what they’re doing is wrong.

This robber was very much one of these people and he was so ashamed of the robbery that he told the person that he would return the money once he got everything right in his life.
Have a Blessed Day!
When you getting robbed by someone, the last thing that you feel is blessed. If anything you feel scared and unlucky. However, this mugger here decided to end his crime off by wishing his victims a “blessed day.” Now we’ve really heard it all!

What do you guys think about this? It’s kind of like slapping someone in the face and then asking them if you can bring them ice for the wound. We’re weirdly okay with it but that’s probably because we’ve read one too many of these kinds of stories.
Close the Window, Please!
There must be times when people intend to rob someplace, but when they get inside, they find out that there’s nothing really of any value. Or maybe they just didn’t find what they were looking for.

This robber seems to have had that happen and he wanted to assure the man that he didn’t take anything and even shook on it. On top of that, he closed the window he came in through. That is one considerate robber that we wouldn’t mind meeting. Kidding! Or are we?!
What’s the Magic Word?
Many robbers hit multiple places, and then they begin to develop a bit of a reputation. This robber had a reputation for being super polite and very appreciative of the victim’s co-operation. Not a bad rep to have as a robber, right?!

As kids, we learn to say please and thank you when asking for things so it seems as if this robber was parented well in that department. However, he missed the lessons on stealing. We guess no one’s perfect. Okay, now we’re totally kidding.
Stand In
It is hard to drive around without a license plate. So what do you do when someone steals yours? Well, there is a lot of time spent at the DMV doing admin and filling out papers. However, you will get a new one, you just won’t be able to drive to get it.

So this thief thought of that and decided to screw a stolen plate on the car so that the driver could still drive his car around. Wait, does that make the victim an accomplice to the crime now?
Pass My Passport
Losing your passport in a foreign country is a nightmare that many foreign tourists have unfortunately gone through. It is the one piece of identification that none of us wants to lose because the process of getting home without one is no walk in the park.

So when this woman had her purse snatched, she just had one concern. We’re glad that she voiced her request and we’re even more pleased and surprised by the fact that the robbers listened.
Here’s a Note!
Some robbers try not to communicate by talking as this could give their identity away. So, in order to avoid this and still get their request across, a classic note does the trick. But typically, it is short and simple like: Give me the money and don’t make any commotion.

This robber did exactly that but added a few words to relieve his guilty conscience a bit. He mentioned that he had to feed his children and thanked the teller for their help.
Catch Me Some Day
Staying calm can make a robbery go smoothly and make it a bearable experience. So, this seasoned robber seemed to know this and chose to treat his victims in a respectful fashion.

He even offered to leave everyone’s phones outside. The best part about this theft story in our opinion is his closing line. It makes him seem like the cool bad guy in those superhero movies.
Waiting My Turn
Patience is a virtue and one that not many thieves possess. They often look to get in and out without coming into contact with too many people. But how does that work in a store where there are customers already in line?

Well, most baddies would just cut in line, but this guy was so polite that he waited his turn. Then when the register was open, he asked for the money. At least he wasn’t a thieve and a line-cutter! Makes it a little better, right?
Not My Intention
Being held up at work is a traumatic experience to have to go through no matter how brave or macho you think you are. This is even more so when you are the only one on duty and a woman. You never know what else is going to go on and that fear of the unknown is menacing.

But this robber was a gentleman, which we know is a contradictory thing to say but judging off how he treated his female victim, it has to be said!
I Have Kids!
When you are raising a kid, there are times of the year where you may feel a financial burden. Times like the holidays can be hard, and not having money for your kid’s Christmas gifts may cause an extra burden.

This thief managed to tug a little at the manager’s heartstrings by telling him that he was only stealing for his kids’ sake. While it’s still not a good enough reason to take what’s not yours, there’s something about kids that make us all mushier and more understanding.
The Magic Word
As kids, we all learned about the power of the magic word, please. When we hear this polite request, we feel a lot more willing to cooperate, even if it’s in a robbery.

So, when this robber did exactly that, the teller was willing to comply. The baddy then collected the cash into his backpack and fled the scene, just like you see in the movies. We wonder if the police ever caught him… Guess we’ll never know.
Let Me Help You With That
Cash registers are designed to be difficult to open so that robberies don’t happen in the first place. This might frustrate a lot of thieves but not all of them, apparently. This robber had plenty of patience and was more than willing to get in there and help out.

With a little help from his friend (aka the teller), he just removed the whole drawer and went off on his merry way. We guess in some ways this teller was fortunate that he didn’t get an aggressive robber.
Words Are Important
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. That is the rule of thumb that this overly polite robber must live by. At all of his robberies, he passed a note without any big gestures and then walked away with a little bit of cash.

We think that it was smart that he didn’t take too much cash on these separate occasions as that would have made him more of a priority for the police to find. Or do you think it’s better to just do one big heist? Gosh, now we’re even starting to sound like robbers.
I Flipped Out Over This
Did you get our joke from the heading? You know, “flipped” sounds similar to “flip flops?” Which also happens to be the one item that this robber decided to spare.

Wow, we’re so funny that we should just quit our job right now to pursue stand-up comedy. Do you think we’ve got what it takes? Wait, don’t answer that. We’re not confident enough to handle the burn of rejection just yet.
Safety First
Leaving your car unlocked or unprotected can put a spotlight on your car for thieves to come. Though this dude didn’t leave his car unlocked on purpose, he just happened to be a victim of faulty locks. Shame man, we’ve all been there!

Anyway, before you feel bad for the guy because his car was stolen, that actually wasn’t the case. All the thief did do was up the safety of the car by putting on the emergency brake. How’s that for a polite thief?
My Bad!
Paying for transportation from place to place can get pretty expensive. In a city where that is the only option, many thieves look for a way to take care of their transport to spare themselves the expense.

Like this ticket pass from the Amtrak. The fact it is required to be left out only makes it easier for people to take it. But at least when this guy was caught red-handed, he retreated and apologized for trying to take it.
There Go the Plates
This story makes us put our detective hats on because there’s a lot of uncertainty to it. Did this car owner get robbed for his license plates or did the plates just fall off by accident?

We’re trying to be optimistic here so we’re gonna go right ahead and say that this was an accident and a matter of just being unlucky. Who agrees? It’s totally okay if you don’t, we are choosing to be a tad naive.
Two Crimes in One
When you’re a kid, your mom is always trying to get it into your head to thank people when they give you something. Even if they didn’t actually give it to you, like in the case of this theft, it seems as though some people still feel the need to be polite.

Though they didn’t have any way of leaving a note for the bike owner in a traditional way, they knew they had to thank the person for their new ride. So what is a little vandalism when you are stealing a bike? We thoroughly enjoyed this one.
Can I Help You?
Have you ever gotten up the courage to do something and get all the way to the final destination only to realize that you just couldn’t go through with whatever it was? Most of us have experienced this. Of course, most of us are not robbing a place.

This person got all the way to the point where the worker asked if they could help him. That’s when he freaked out and dipped the scene. He must have given himself a good pep talk because he came back and politely robbed the pizza place.
You Okay!?
When someone robs an establishment, you expect them to take all the money they can. That includes the workers and the customers. But this thief didn’t do that and even let the customers leave without any problems.

It was like he knew that the people in that building were hard workers and needed their money just as much as he needed the money from the registers. He even apologized to people for scaring them. Sounds like the nicest thief ever!
Leaving Insurance
Look, sometimes good people do bad things. When we feel like our backs are against the wall, we can get to a place where we can act out of character. It sounds like this is what happened to Mr. Cummins here.

He wanted to let the clerk know that he was not a bad guy and introduced himself the way you should. He even promised to return the cash when he was able to and gave his name as an untraditional piece of insurance.
Not a Brand Name
This bunch of thieves wasn’t after much, just some cash. They even let the girl keep her jacket because it turns out that it wasn’t up to their standards.

We wonder how it must have felt to be dealt a sick burn from the person that was stealing from you. Not the most polite robbery but a very funny one, nonetheless. It made us realize that even thieves have snobby preferences that they won’t compromise on.
Talk Them Down
When someone is desperate enough to rob an establishment, they must really need the money, right? But sometimes, if you are calm and kind, you might be able to talk them down from that ledge.

Once this person was asked to stop, he surprisingly did exactly that and he even handed over the weapon without any conflict. It sounds as if this robber had a guilty conscience that got the better of him.
Thanks, a Lot!
When robbers are polite, we wonder if this makes their sentencing different than if they were rude. After all, when a robber is nice, it shows that they have a better character than the aggressive ones, right?

There’s just something comforting about a person who has good manners. Even if he happens to be robbing you at the same time! We hope this clerk didn’t feel as scared when the man wished her a pleasant evening.
