Lego Launches Racing-Inspired Kits
Lego has announced an exciting new collaboration that’s all about racing. The toy company will produce racing-inspired Lego kits for kids who dream of growing up to be race car drivers. And, let’s be honest, it’s also for their racing enthusiast parents who will want to build these Lego sets as well.
The Kits
The new Lego kits will include two Speed Champions sets created in collaboration with partners at McLaren Racing and BMW, two Lego Technic cars from the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1 Team, one Lego Icons car from McLaren and the Senna brand, and two new racing-inspired cars from Lego City. Perhaps the most exciting will be the McLaren Racing and Senna brand’s 1988 McLaren MP4/4. This item will have a total of 693 pieces including an Ayrton Senna mini-figure, working steering, rod suspension, adjustable rear wing, tires, mirrors, gearshift, a turbocharged V-6 engine, and a display stand.
Plenty of Options
Younger children will enjoy the pull-back version of the Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance, which will have 240 pieces. Older kids would likely prefer the other model, which will feature a whopping 1,642 pieces. There’s also the Speed Champions kit which is meant to be for children nine years old and above. It will feature the 2023 McLaren Formula 1 race car with 245 pieces, the BMW M4 GT3 with 676 pieces, and the BMW M Hybrid V-8, which will also have 676 pieces, all with mini-figure drives.
The Lego City sets were created for children ages four and up. It contains a City Green Race Car with 56 pieces, and a Race Car and Car Carrier set with 328 pieces.
