Back in 2014, Verstappen was offered a place at the Red Bull Junior Team after turning down an offer from Mercedes to join their driver development program. By 2015, he had become the youngest ever driver to start a World Championship race and in 2016 became the youngest ever race winner at the Spanish Grand Prix. That same year, he also drove one of the best races the world had ever seen, when in Brazil he came from 16th place to third with just 15 laps remaining. After an unlucky season in 2017 and the beginning of 2018, he came back fighting to finish 4th in the 2018 Championship.

2019 Season So Far

The aggressive yet consistent Max Verstappen has had a fairly strong start to the 2019 season, with three podiums including winning the Austrian Grand Prix on June 30, 2019. Starting on the grid in second place, after a Hamilton penalty, it looked like it wasn’t meant to be for Verstappen. After stalling at the start, the Dutchman dropped back several places much to the orange army’s disappointment. However, in true Mighty Max style, he managed to claw it back and, after a tussle Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, finished at the top of the podium.
