30+ of the Most Cringeworthy & Embarrassing Things Americans Said on the Internet
Excuse Me?
A pregnancy announcement is always exciting. After all, many parents want to celebrate their new family member on the way. So, plenty of parents want to take the time to find the perfect name, too.
As for these parents, they decided a variation of the word “rifle” would make a good baby name. The idea is an interesting one that might be best to think over again. Really, the other person’s “Oh” in response sums up our reaction well.
Easily Tricked
There’s a lot to unpack here. For starters, the picture this person sent doesn’t feature Texas at all. It seems like the joke here is clear.
Not for one person, at least. We’re glad to see they questioned that Texas is bigger than all of Europe but we’re a little disappointed to see that they didn’t seem to recognize what the picture actually shows — Africa and Australia. In case you’re wondering, these pictures aren’t accurate to size.
They’re Learning, at Least
It’s hard to see people say incorrect things and then respond poorly to someone pointing out the facts behind a matter. To see the opposite can feel rather refreshing.
This person had a really strange take to share on the internet that, needless to say, is incorrect. We suppose it’s nice to see that they learned from the responses they got and had a chance to learn some new geography.
But Not Always
Unfortunately, not everyone learns from their mistakes online. Some people just double down in the face of criticism.
To an American, the term “football” has a different meaning than it does in many other parts of the world. Someone even had a graphic handy to prove it! Instead of recognizing this difference and accepting that they were wrong, the original person doubled down on their insistence on what to call the sport.
The internet is a great place to find and share information. Unfortunately, it’s also a place where many people go to share some of the worst and most incorrect statements in the world as well. These are some of the most questionable statements we’ve seen from Americans around the internet.
