This woman has clearly edited her photo to whittle her waist down so small that, if it were real, there wouldn’t be any room for her organs! While there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being slim, heavy, or anything in between, there’s a problem with setting unrealistic body standards.

Unfortunately for him, the sunglasses reveal that this was a selfie taken in a car, which makes us question the validity of the rest of the photo. Needless to say, impersonating military personnel is never okay.

These twins are Instagram influencers who really love to show off their abs. That being said, it’s pretty difficult to believe those six-packs are real when this image has clearly been manipulated.

Are we really meant to believe that it’s raining so hard, these guys’ shirts have been soaked through, yet not a hair on their heads is even dampened? We wish there were a hairspray strong enough to be rain-resistant, but unfortunately, this is just a dishonest photo.

To make matters even worse, her legs have been photoshopped to be so long that she resembles an alien more than a model. It’s a shame, too, because this person’s natural photo is simply stunning.

We’re sure that this woman is absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately, we’ll never really know since she’s wearing so much makeup, and has done so much photoshop, that it’s impossible to tell what she really looks like.

She’s even meshed the fence into her face in her attempts to filter out any possible “flaws” in her appearance. Maybe she was trying to be symbolic about how we’re all caged by society’s beauty standards or something like that?

It’s pretty clear that this woman wanted to show off how she’s been consistent with her workouts. Unfortunately, it’s also pretty clear that her results are completely faked.

In case anyone was fooled by those muscles, take a look at the lockers behind her arm… the lines on them have completely disappeared! It’s a shame that this woman didn’t choose to show off her real fitness progress, since we’d be a lot more impressed by that than her photoshop skills.

It’s already bad enough that Mariah Carey felt she needed to photoshop herself in order to look “more attractive” but she even photoshopped her dog! That pup has the smoothest fur we’ve ever seen. In fact, it’s a little too smooth to believe…

That poor animal looks more like a simulation than an actual canine. Apparently, not even dogs can escape Hollywood’s unrealistic beauty standards so there’s truly no hope for the rest of us.

This guy’s body seems to be proportioned a bit strangely, to say the least. It looks like he works out every single muscle in order to enlarge it but he appears to continuously skip head day at the gym.

This man has been making waves over the internet and we do mean that literally. He’s photoshopped this image in such a way that it’s actually morphed the water behind him.

Even the sand under his arm has been altered in the process of this guy getting the exact guns he wanted. Clearly, this is a manipulated photo, which is a true shame, as we’re sure that his body is just perfect.

Jennifer Lopez posted a photo of herself getting ready for an event but, while she looks beautiful, she seems entirely different in a photographer’s photo from that exact same day.

We argue, that she looks even better in the second image that shows her true face. It’s clear that JLo had manipulated her own photo in order to make herself look younger. Ironically, she still looks young, naturally, for her then-age of 49.

This woman is clearly a natural beauty, as she was named Miss Slovakia in 2015. Unfortunately, not even that coveted title was enough to convince her that she’s perfect just the way she is.

Instead, she decided to heavily filter an otherwise lovely photo of herself and her grandfather but she neglected to filter him too. The contrast between the two family members just makes it all the more clear that this image has been photoshopped. Poor grandpa!

We can even see that the edge of the pool is inexplicably missing from the photo, where Britney’s back truly was. Britney’s not fooling anyone, we all know she’s got a strong back because we’ve seen her carry her family’s finances on it for years.

As far as image manipulation goes, digitally whitening one’s teeth is a pretty harmless alteration to make. That being said, this man has gone way overboard and made his whites less pearly and more… fluorescent. In all honesty, those teeth are brighter than some of our futures!

Any Friends fans out there, will recall that episode in which Ross whitens his teeth before a date. Something tells us that this guy hasn’t learned from that classic sitcom mistake and he’s in for a similar evening.

This influencer is perfectly gorgeous just as she is. However, she seemed to feel that her photo needed some editing. We can understand feeling insecure about one or two things but this woman touched up almost everything, despite the lack of necessity for it!

We all have goals in life, some are bigger than others, but they’re all valid. Well, this influencer’s dream in life is to look like a “French doll” and she often photoshops her pictures in order to achieve that.

While her age is unknown, she has revealed that she’s been getting cosmetic surgery since she was 19 year old. We don’t know what she looked like beforehand but we have no doubt that she was perfectly doll-like before the editing and procedures.

It’s hard to believe that someone could look at this photo and not realize that it’s way too filtered. For that reason, a lot of John Mayer’s fans think that this image he posted of himself and Ricky Van Veen was done so ironically.

However, those who have a little less faith in the singer insist that he seriously thought he’d done a good job in editing this photo. We may never know the truth but we do know that this picture will give us nightmares.

Taylor Swift is well-known for hanging around with her model-esque friends. In this particular scenario, T Swift was on a boat with the sisters of Haim.

Seemingly unaware of how to handle hanging around non-Victoria’s Secret models, Taylor edited her and her friends’ bodies in the photo, as evidenced by the warped railing behind the women. It’s too bad that the singers couldn’t just shake off their insecurities because all four of them are beautiful!

This woman is either impossibly flexible or she’s edited this photo to carve off a part of her thigh. The unfortunate result of this photoshop is a leg that resembles a Twizzler more than it does a human limb.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with having a little more to love around the thigh are, in fact, most women do. Someone needs to tell this woman that thighs are beautiful, no matter what their size!

These three women posed for a lovely photo together but, a few days later, two of the three ladies were tagged in another image in which they’re unrecognizable.

While the woman in the middle is not the same person in both photos, the two individuals on either side don’t look like the same people either… but they are! That’s some pretty heavy editing when we’re not even sure which person was swapped out.

This woman tried to get away with posting a heavily edited photo on her Facebook and she nearly succeeded. However, the photographer of the image uploaded his own version, as a way of promoting his retouching work.

Needless to say, the con was up, and the woman was outed as being of perfectly normal proportions. It’s sad that she was ever ashamed of such a beautiful photo but something tells us she won’t be working with this photographer again anyway.

This man took a vacation photo, and it probably would have been an incredible shot, had he not messed with it to the point that he doesn’t look human anymore. His face has been altered so much that we can’t tell what he actually looks like at all.

Furthermore, there are white marks below his chest, which imply some form of editing of the torso. Finally, the background looks to be a bit warped too. We really hope this poor guy didn’t spend his whole vacation on that!

This image is so heavily edited — and so poorly — that we’re kind of getting motion sickness just by looking at all the warped bits. This just goes to show that even the most gorgeous individuals can fall victim to body dysmorphia.

Lady Gaga is known to preach self-acceptance and love, so it was extremely disappointing when she posted this gym photo that had clearly been photoshopped to make her appear slimmer. The edge of the mirror in the background is warped, as is part of the wall and floor.

We think that all the Little Monsters should unite and tell Mother Monster how beautiful she is, even without photoshop. Maybe Lady Gaga just needs to hear some of her own words repeated back to her.

The truth is that her original picture was stunning, as her red dress fit her perfectly, there was really no need at all for retouching. It’s a shame that society doesn’t promote women of all body types; since a curvaceous body is just as gorgeous as a thin one.

Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods have been friends for years and have gone through the ups and downs of fame together. Unfortunately, that includes the pressure Hollywood places on them to look “perfect.”

We can see the effects of that pressure in this photo in which the floor seems warped, indicating that Jordyn photoshopped a thigh gap for herself when she doesn’t necessarily have (or need) one. There also seems to have been some (unnecessary) retouching around the ladies’ waistlines.

Kylie’s unawareness of how beautiful her natural body is can possibly stem from her mother, Kris Jenner. The famous “momager” posted a cute photo with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay but when Gordon posted the exact same image, it looked entirely different…

The picture Kris uploaded was heavily filtered in order to erase her age, while Gordon’s photo seems untouched and natural. While both celebrities look great in both photos, we see nothing wrong with people in their 50s and 60s looking appropriately aged.

This fitness influencer is undeniably toned and built but some of her photos are seriously exaggerated. In an attempt to solidify herself in the industry, this influencer has simply gone overboard. How do we know? Just look at her shadow — it tells the real story.

We see no need for this fitness instructor to enhance her muscles, they’re perfectly beautiful just the way they are, and she’s certainly earned them with all of her training!

Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who’s the most photoshopped of them all? This woman is perfectly beautiful just the way she is, but for some reason, she felt the need to edit herself to look slimmer than her already thin self.

We can see her real figure in the mirror, though, and she looks great in that dress! We wish she’d see her reflection the same way that we see her.

This woman posted an adorable photo shortly after joining Instagram and we actually think that she looks like the beautiful actress Blake Lively! However, over time, this gorgeous individual found internet fame and became an influencer, which changed her life… and her physical appearance.

She now looks like exactly every other influencer on Instagram — rather than her lovely, unique, self. This is probably the most depressing before and after transformation we’ve ever seen.

We all know the expression “abs are made in the kitchen” but it seems that this woman’s abs were made in Photoshop, instead. She clearly painted on some fake muscles for this photo during her desert hike.

We have no doubt that her natural stomach is beautiful and it’s pretty sad that she didn’t feel confident enough to post the real image on social media. We would have preferred to see that one.

While women are known to suffer from unrealistic beauty standards, it’s important to note that men also feel the need to achieve unfair physical expectations. Perhaps that’s why this perfectly fit gentleman felt the need to alter his body to make himself even slimmer and his muscles even larger.

Seeing him backstage at this photoshoot, we actually prefer his more proportioned body rather than the final, photoshopped version. Even the poor car got warped in this disastrous image editing mishap.

We appreciate that this woman works hard at the gym and we have no doubt that her body is perfectly fit and toned. That being said, there’s no way that she actually has these insane proportions. Where would her ribs go?

There’s simply no amount of training, no diet, and no exercise that can give a human being that type of body. At least not without the help of Photoshop, and why would someone want that when they work so hard to sculpt their body at the gym?

This influencer really liked a particular photo of himself, so rather than taking another one on a different day, he just used the same exact one and tried to pass it off as a new image. Of course, the internet noticed and called him out for it.

We understand that not every single picture can be a winner and it must be exhausting for influencers to need to come up with flattering photos every day but this was just an obvious faux pas.

Fashion designer, Vera Wang, was celebrating her 72nd birthday when someone posted this photo of her. Vera was furious that the image was unaltered, as all of her posts from the party were heavily edited, and she didn’t want the world to see her true and beautiful face.

It’s unfortunate because she still looks incredible and there’s nothing wrong with a few wrinkles at 72. We wouldn’t expect anything else. Something tells us that this party guest won’t be invited back…

This guy appears to be so ripped that even his muscles have developed muscles! Of course, he doesn’t actually look like this, as it’s the work of some pretty heavy Photoshop.

Not only did he heavily alter his body but this man’s face looks blurry and filtered, if not photoshopped altogether. It’s a true shame that in his efforts to look like G.I. Joe, he actually resembles a glitch in the matrix instead.

Like so many failed Photoshop jobs that came before her, this girl forgot to edit her mirror image in order to match her altered figure in this picture.

While the mirror exposes the fact that this woman edited her body, we believe she did a bit of retouching on her face too. However, we can’t prove that one. We think her real body is gorgeous and doesn’t require any changes at all — it’s a shame she doesn’t agree.

Kelly Osbourne looks like a completely new person these days, which would be alright (everyone should live their best lives) if it weren’t for the fact that she’s denying that her new look is unnatural.

Teaching young, impressionable fans that this type of transformation is achievable without the help of some photo retouching, and/or cosmetic procedures, is dangerous and irresponsible. We know Kelly can do better and we’re looking forward to seeing her step up to the plate.

There are a lot of things in the world that are unpleasant and frightening based on their very nature. But there are some strange things out there that are oddly terrifying even though they are fairly mundane. The way ice freezes, the way a plant looks after it dies, pictures taken at the wrong moment: these are things that shouldn’t be terrifying, but somehow manage to be. These are pictures that are oddly terrifying, though admittedly, some of them are understandably terrifying.

We’re not sure if this is creepy or amusing. In a Welsh Christmas tradition, a horse skull comes to your door and sings rhymes. You have to sing rhymes back regarding why this dead horse cannot be allowed in your home. It goes on until one side gives up, and if you lose, the horse gets to drink all of your beer.

It does seem to be a little silly, but at the same time, there’s something inherently creepy about the whole thing. Who came up with this tradition anyway?

Halloween is nowhere near as scary as it used to be. Most costumes are cute or cool these days, with little intent to inspire actual fear. This family goes about their costumes a little differently, a little more… traditionally.

It’s definitely a creepy look, there’s no denying that. But at the same time, we have to applaud the parent that put this much time and effort into making a costume that looks this good. That’s pretty amazing!

Mosquitoes are already a bane to humans all over the world. But imagine if they could get this big! Truly, this is nightmare fuel. The picture isn’t photoshopped, it’s actually the result of a bug flying right in front of the camera lens right as the picture was taken.

Along with the fog, it makes for a truly eerie effect that will probably make a lot of bug haters very uncomfortable. That, or give a lot of gamers EDF flashbacks.

Who would have thought that something as mundane as cabbage could look so unsettling and oddly terrifying? Seriously, this image is just a cabbage field. And yet, it looks a lot more like some sort of alien egg nest, doesn’t it?

We suppose this is what happens when people don’t know where things come from or what they look at during their various stages of growth. Honestly, how many people would know what this is at a glance?

We’re actually a little torn on this one: on one hand, we can definitely see why someone who doesn’t like bugs might find this ladybug covered in dew as creepy or oddly terrifying. But at the same time, we can’t help but feel that it’s kind of cute.

It can go both ways, depending on who is looking at it. But because some people might still find it unsettling, we’ve decided to put it here anyway.

We often picture birds as animals that fly. That’s just what they do. So seeing them performing a seemingly strange motion like running with their actual feet could be oddly terrifying. It’s just uncanny to see them do it.

Case in point, just look at these birds running towards you. It’s weird how oddly human they look in motion. We can’t imagine this actually looks natural to many people, since birds are rarely seen behaving this way in the day to day.

Speaking of the mundane turning into oddly terrifying things, this is literally just some rubber gloves being washed in a machine. So how did it turn out so creepy? Just luck of the draw, we suppose.

We imagine this gave someone a fright when they first opened the machine’s door. It really does look like a horde of hands coming out of the depths of the underworld. Coincidences like these don’t happen too often.

This isn’t a natural phenomenon: it’s art made by a person using driftwood. But it’s hard to look at it as something creative more than something oddly terrifying. These ents, dryads, or tree people, whatever you want to call them, would give someone a heart attack while walking through the woods.

Sure, it’s creative, but the idea of dismembered tree people hanging out in the woods is pretty creepy in its own right. We suppose the unsettling is art just as much as anything else.

Flowers and plants are often quite beautiful when they are alive. But when they die, what’s left can be oddly terrifying. What you are looking at here is a Snapdragon plant after it has died. Of course, it looks more like the souls of the damned.

It’s very odd how all of the dead flowers look like strange goblin skulls now. There’s no denying that this technically normal part of nature is extremely unsettling in its own right.

There’s nothing particularly creepy about the Harpy Eagle. It actually looks like a pretty swell bird. The real thing that’s so oddly (or justifiably) terrifying about the Harpy Eagle is just how huge it is. It’s the largest eagle in the world, and easily comparable to a grown man.

We highly doubt a Harpy Eagle would attack a person for no reason out of the blue, but the mere fact that it could potentially take down an adult human being if it got in the mood is terrifying in and of itself.

OK, so we’re not saying that there’s a relation between big caves and people disappearing, but… well, there certainly seems to to, based on this image, doesn’t there? Maybe it’s just a coincidence.

One way or another, laying eyes on this particular coincidence is somewhat creepy, if you ask us. Oddly terrifying? We feel that it is. Maybe it should make you think twice about going spelunking!

Honestly, the fact that spiky contact lenses even exist is pretty terrifying in our books. The good news is that they aren’t meant to be worn, which we suppose makes us feel a little better. Still, it’s creepy even considering the way they were intended to be used.

Truly, learning about the way bodies are prepared for funerals is pretty off putting. Maybe it’s better to just not think about it.

There are a precious few scenarios in which it might make sense to make a cake that looks like a scientifically accurate piece of skin. However, we can’t think of any situation in which it wouldn’t be somewhat horrifying.

Would you really want to eat this? Hopefully, it looks a lot more palatable after being cut up, but even that is no guarantee. Just knowing what it looked like in the first place would probably turn someone off in no time flat.

Want to scare some poor pedestrians with an oddly terrifying kite? Few designs will do a better job of that than this squid one. It is very disconcerting to see this thing just flying around in the sky, especially when it’s just a black silhouette.

We wonder if certain types of kites are against the rules in other countries. How many ‘alien’ sightings have been some odd kite or something similar? The world may never know.

Frogs tend to come out after a good rain. That in and of itself isn’t that weird. But what’s oddly terrifying about this picture is how many frogs there are, as well as the strange way they are all facing in the same direction.

If anyone knows why the frogs would do this, we’d honestly be pretty invested in learning the answer. Are they all going somewhere? Is something getting their attention? Are they summoning a frog deity?

Believe it or not, the oddly terrifying thing you see in this image is actually a lemon. We’re not sure if it’s one single lemon or if a bunch of lemons somehow connected to each other or what. Frankly, it’s just bizarre.

But despite the concerning appearance, this is actually good, from a practical point of view. That’s a lot of lemon, a lot more than what you get out of a single specimen under normal circumstances! And we assume it still tastes perfectly fine.

Sheep generally aren’t regarded as creepy. Goats, maybe, but not sheep. But then again, few people have a whole flock of sheep staring at them in the dark of the night. Yeah, it’s just them looking at you, but it’s oddly terrifying.

Sheep are just as harmless at night as they are during the day, but that doesn’t make this flock any less unsettling. Maybe just don’t shine a light in their eyes.

This is one of the examples on this list of something that isn’t really oddly terrifying: it’s actually pretty understandable to be terrified about this. After all, most people don’t like spiders, they certainly don’t like a lot of spiders, and they really don’t like a lot of spiders all over their things.

What is oddly terrifying is the circumstances in which this occurred. Was this an overnight thing? Where did all of these spiders come from, and how did no one notice?

Of all the insects in the world, the Praying Mantis is the one you don’t really expect to see in large groups. They are generally regarded as solitary bugs. But like most bugs, they hatch in large groups, and that means you can find a situation like this.

This oddly terrifying image is what it looks like when you encounter a Praying Mantis nest that has just recently hatched. Well, this is disconcerting, but at least the bug in question is more tolerable than most.

We don’t actually know what we’re looking at here. Well, we know it is a Manatee, but we don’t know what these weird, oddly humanoid looking leg things are. What we do know is that it makes the Manatee look like a mermaid of some sort.

We’re not sure if we should qualify this as oddly terrifying, but there’s no denying that it’s a pretty unusual looking sight that could at least be considered uncanny.

Kids just don’t have the same issues as adults do. Most of us would think it gross to collect an army of Cicada bodies, even if it is just their skin. It’s not really terrifying, but it is a little creepy.

We’re just saying, keep an eye on that kid. Who knows what he’ll get up to in the future, as he gets older. It’s probably nothing, but most kids don’t go around amassing armies of the dead when they are young. He’s a necromancer in the making!

Most crystals are nice and pretty. This is not one of those crystals. In fact, this one looks like it has little spiders in it. Why it’s like that, we don’t know. What we do know is that it’s creepy.

It’s definitely not the kind of crystal we’d want to keep around as some sort of keepsake or anything. We suppose it’s probably still rare, but with an appearance like that, we just don’t know if it would be enough for us to keep it.

This oddly terrifying image is actually just the root system of a plant. Not only that, but it’s actually a very healthy root system, judging by all of those little furry things that make it look so unsettling.

It may look like some sort of parasite infested brain or something, but this is actually a good thing for a gardener to see, and it’s a perfect example of something completely normal in this world that is still quite uncomfortable to look at.

Fans of dinosaur media may recognize this creature, the extinct Quetzalcoatlus. What’s so oddly terrifying about this? Frankly, it’s just the sheer size of the thing, and the knowledge that, at one point in Earth’s history, the Quetz flew around the skies.

Imagine walking around, only to see a massive shadow blot out the sun above you. Scary! On the other hand, we have to wonder if you could ride them in reality. Domesticated giant reptile birds, now that would be pretty cool!

Believe it or not, this is not a whole bunch of eyeballs. It’s actually some sort of plant. We’re not sure what kind, but needless to say, it’s oddly terrifying to think that you could just encounter this thing out in the wild.

Imagine the kind of heart attack you would have seeing this thing while walking around in the woods or the jungle, or wherever it is you would find it. The eyes, they are always watching!

If you need an example of how the 1920’s was just a different time, this terrifying image is all you need. No, these are not burned dolls or anything. They are actually little chocolate babies, supposed to be treats back in 1923 or so.

We have no idea why society back then would think chocolate babies are something anyone would want to eat, but once again, it was a different time. Society’s taste was just weird back then.

There are some oddly terrifying things you can do with makeup that most people don’t really know or understand. This is one such example. It looks very creepy, but the only thing being used to achieve this unsettling effect is makeup.

It’s a wonder what you can do with makeup. Most people think it just hides blemishes or makes you a little prettier. But if you really know what you’re doing, even things like this are possible.

Honestly, Catfish are just oddly terrifying in general. Sure, they seem harmless enough most of the time, but the sheer size they can grow to is absolutely crazy. Just look at this thing! This Catfish could probably eat a human child!

And honestly, that’s all there really is to say on this front. It’s just incredibly troubling how massive this fish is. It’s practically the size of a shark.

There are many things that are terrifying and creepy about this image. That’s probably because it was taken at a time when people actually had to worry about mustard gas and the like from foreign enemies.

The gas mask is obvious enough, but that thing she’s pushing around? That’s a baby stroller. A baby stroller that is designed to protect the baby from toxic gas. The fact that such a thing even needed to exist at some point is terrifying.

Whales aren’t terrifying because of their behavior. In fact, most whales are relatively peaceful, at least towards humans. That’s why this is oddly terrifying. The whale itself isn’t an intentional threat to the ship it is under, but its sheer size makes it so.

Few things are as scary to humans as creatures that dwarf them so completely. Thankfully, whales of this size don’t go out of their way to be a problem for sailors.

This image is nothing more than water that has frozen over, a completely natural phenomenon. And yet, it’s so oddly terrifying that it froze in the shape of a person like that. It almost looks like some sort of ghost or spirit.

You’d be surprised what kind of weird shapes can come up when water freezes, since it can clearly freeze in all sorts of positions. However, this is the only example we’re looking at in this particular list.

The deeper into the ocean you go, the creepier the living organisms you will find. You will even find oddly terrifying things like this fish, which has its brain and eyeballs visible through its skin. Eerie.

And yet, it’s also pretty darn fascinating. It’s amazing to see how animals in a completely different environment from the surface have evolved in completely different ways. Perhaps that is what makes them so inherently uncanny to us.

Looking at this picture, we’d forgive you for assuming that skinny wet thing is dead. But it actually isn’t: it’s a newborn alpaca. Because it just came out of the womb, it’s hair is mostly slicked to its body, creating this creepy image.

It’s pretty crazy that the baby alpaca is that thin under all of its hair. It’s hard to imagine that it even has enough room for its organs in there!

Sometimes, people forget that bats are actually mammals, and thus do mammalian things, such as nurse their young in a manner such as this. Thing is, most people probably never see a bat nursery since bats are so secretive.

We’re torn on whether or not this is creepy or actually kind of cute. Maybe it’s a little bit of both, as there’s no reason they have to be mutually exclusive. It probably depends on the individual seeing the image, mostly.

The panoramic phenomenon is something most people are aware of these days: if people move around too much during a panoramic photo, weird images come out, often looking like this. Such images are always oddly terrifying.

In the case of this particular photo, it looks like this poor woman has sprouted another head born of demonic possession or something. Certainly not the way anyone wanted this picture to turn out, we’re sure.

Even if you’re not afraid of heights, something about these stairs is terrifying. They are just so high up, while twisting around, with only a moderate amount of safety… it’s just unsettling. We assume an elevator is used normally.

That said, these must be the stairs for emergencies, like fires or if the elevator is out. That high up though, they may as well just have emergency parachutes available!

This image is oddly terrifying because it’s hard to tell what’s going on at first glance. No, this bird doesn’t have multiple legs. It’s actually carrying its babies up under its wings, and their legs just hang down like that.

Once again, a perfect example of something that is completely natural, yet very strange and creepy to look at upon first glance. Once you know what’s happening, it’s not quite as bad, but the point still stands.

What’s more oddly terrifying than a giant evil eye looking thing watching planet Earth from the depth’s of space? Well, probably a few things (black holes come to mind), but this is definitely still pretty high on the list as far as creepy things go.

It certainly gives us Eye of Sauron vibes, and we all know how creepy that thing was. Then again, the depths of space are oddly terrifying even without this kind of thing, when you really think about it.

Remember when we said that Halloween used to be a lot scarier than it is now? Case in point, this right here. These terrifying costumers were the norm for kids. Kids! These types of costumes were seen as innocuous, now that’s crazy!

Needless to say, we’re glad Halloween became somewhat less terrifying over time. Not to say there isn’t a place for scary things, but this is a little much.

Dolphins are generally regarded as fairly cute and cuddly. But not this one. We’re not quite sure what it is, but this dolphin is just creepy. We think its the eyes, personally. That said, it’s a little bit of everything.

Heck, even the way this dolphin is smiling or laughing or whatever is pretty unsettling. We feel kind of bad saying that because the dolphin is probably just having a good time, but it is what it is. He’s just not a cute dolphin.

Do we even need to say anything about this? Maybe it’s not terrifying, per se, but it’s definitely disconcerting. Would anyone really want to eat that? Well, if you’re starving, maybe.

We don’t know why anyone would take the term ‘fish taco’ this literally. Of course, we’re not entirely sure if this photo is real or shopped, but one way or another, we really don’t like looking at it.

Believe it or not, this terrifying guy is just a shark. Well, a certain type of shark, but a shark nevertheless. He really looks more like some sort of alien monster than a normal animal just trying to catch a meal.

We’re assuming his eyes are further up on his head and not visible. Those other holes are probably something else (do sharks have nostrils?). Whatever it is, this aquatic creature looks like it belongs in a science fiction film.

Everyone knows that babies develop in the womb, and that they have to go from a tiny little embryo to a full human being. But other than some vague ultrasound images, most people don’t ever actually see what the baby looks like between those stages.

Maybe that’s for the best. We’re not even sure if you could call this image oddly terrifying. It seems pretty understandable to be terrified of this kind of image.

Everyone likes Jim Carey as the Grinch. But we’re willing to bet a lot of people don’t realize that the expressions he makes as the character, he’s capable of making in real life. Case in point, this facial expression right here.

It’s very unsettling to know that he can contort his face into such a shape. But on the other hand, it’s also pretty impressive that he can do that, isn’t it? Imagine having that much control over your facial muscles.

Hermit crabs and other members of their ilk will use all sorts of things as their home. However, they don’t have any sort of metric to judge how creepy something will be, so it doesn’t bother them to use a baby doll head as home. For us humans, that’s just scary.

Sure, this is just a normal part of nature, but it’s oddly terrifying to look at. Needless to say, it would probably give a scuba diver some sort of heart attack!
